flats to the rescue

rollasole

this is revolutionary! well, at least for club-hoppin’ ladies it is. uk shoe company rollasole has come up with an idea that lends a helping hand to fans of high heels. it’s a gosh darn vending machine for ballet flats! brills!

on their website, rollasole explains the rationale behind it all. “the best nightclub shoes are painful, precarious & painfully pointy.” rollasole to the rescue! their well-placed vending machines allow girls to purchase cute flats in which to saunter home in after a long night. all for around 8 bucks. the flats also include a bag, which help in carrying home the wounded soldiers (aka your stilettos).

rollasole creator matt horan says his eureka moment came after getting tired of giving his girlfriend a piggyback home every saturday night. makes sense – men don’t understand why we wear shoes that hurt. especially when we complain about them all night. hey, i get it… it’s worth it! i love me some high heels. now if only we could get some rollasole vending machines in the us of a!

100 calorie pack crazy

let’s have a little chitty chat about this commersh i just saw. it literally made my mouth hang open. the ad features a horde of completely insane women, screaming with excitement as a truck carrying ’100 calorie packs’ of oreo cakesters rolls down a city street.

we’re obviously supposed to find this hilarious, but the commercial is just plain annoying. mainly because if, as the ad claims, these packs are “goodies for grown-ups,” then why are women the only ones going crazy over the cookies in this ad? because let’s be honest… i think there are a LOT more overweight men that need these little 100 calorie packs than women.

a thousand steps back

marveldivas

alright, i’m no crazy-feminist, but this is just WEIRD. marvel comics has released a picture and some limited info about their new superheros – the marvel divas.

divas?! DIVAS? i mean, come on. but it gets better. the superhero ladies are supposed to be cartoon crime-fighting versions of the characters from ‘sex and the city.’ yes, not only will we get to see the ladies in action, but we’ll hear about their boy problems. marvel’s roberto aguirre-sacasa says of the series, “there’s definitely that naughty element to it.” oh goodie.

and let’s point out the elephant in the room… nice bosoms, ladies. how very life-like?

well, we must have a sense of humor about it all. i’m sure they’ll be a hit among teenage boys at least. how long until they make a movie out of it?

warning: this is disturbing!

okay, prepare yourself. this past week on ‘good morning america,’ we were introduced to a new form of “love,” if you can even call it that. the woman featured claims she has serious emotional relationships with… wait for it… objects. watch below. i think my mouth was hanging open the entire 5 minutes.

some highlights? “when other teenagers were dating each other, i was dating a bridge.” really, lady? fast forward to minute 3:38. this woman actually has a commitment ceremony with the eiffel tower. and changed her last name to eiffel. is that even allowed? interesting world we live in today.

25 things

i remember back in 2004 when i got a link to join facebook from a good friend at home. as i jumped from year to year in college, facebook changed significantly. i definitely like facebook a LOT better than myspace (mainly because over 90,000 sex offenders have been found to have profiles on myspace: http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/18721215/detail.html). no thanks!

anyway, facebook’s changes have been welcomed by some, hated by others. i just found a hysterically funny video by julian smith chronicling the ’25 things (i) hate about facebook.’ oh my gosh… pleeease watch this. everything he says is so dang true.

“2 Buck Chuck” no longer 2 bucks?

sad news! the governator has submitted a proposal to RAISE the tax on wine – to more than 6 times higher than it is now. so everyone’s beloved “2 Buck Chuck” might not be 2 bucks much longer!

gov. shwarzenegger propsed this tax increase to help close California’s $41.6 billion budget deficit. let’s just hope that all the Charles Shaw wine lovers won’t have to pay the price for this bad economy! it definitely does not get any better than a good bottle of wine for only $2.

the shack

so here’s a great book recommendation for you! the shack, by william young. my Dad gave me this book for Christmas, and i truly have been blessed by it. thanks Dad :)

it is a story of a man that has “given up” on God due to a tragic event in his life. he has always misunderstood God and how He loves His children. this book truly paints a picture of God’s one greatest desire: to have a relationship with us. the book helped me grasp that concept a little more than i have in the past. read it, and thank me later!

you can read a bit more about it at http://theshackbook.com/.

now what?

sooo i have been pondering the idea of starting a blog for fun, and after constantly smushing together things to write about in my head, i decided to finally go for it! it truly will be a blog for funsies. just for fun! random thoughts, favorites, pictures and the like. just a way to release some creative energy :) perhaps to entertain? hopefully!

to the left is a pic i snapped early one morning right outside my apartment. God is so good! i love living near the mountains. such a beautiful painting to wake up to!
