there’s a new queen of prank shows and it’s none other than ms. betty white. NBC has just picked up the 88-year-old’s reality TV series, off their rockers!

ms. white will host and executive produce off their rockers, a hidden-camera show that will follow a band of senior citizens as they play pranks on unsuspecting young people. oh. my. gosh…. this sounds HILARIOUS!

“people have been telling me that i’m ‘off my rocker’ for years – now i can prove it,” says white.

can’t wait to see what they come up with! i mean, ANYone could fall victim to some sweet little old man or woman. you’d have a heart of stone if ya didn’t!

ask anyone – they’ll tell you i’ve been a fan of american idol for years.

it was only about a week ago that i realized i’m OVER IT. i mean, sure new judges jennifer lopez and steven tyler are cool but the show has lost its edge. every single performance is dubbed “amazing” and “ground-breaking” and just all-around perfect. where’s the fun in that? without simon cowell, there’s no spark, no discord and certainly no real opinions given.

so… with that being said, i’m now even more interested to see the 2 new singing competitions hitting the market this year: NBC’s the voice and FOX’s the x factor. the voice premieres april 26th and features a fresh new set of music judges – maroon 5′s adam levine, cee lo green, country star blake shelton and christina aguilera.

judging from the first 12 minutes of the show (check it out above), i can say the voice has some real promise. the judges sure have a great camaraderie and you can tell they’re having a blast. plus, the format is WAY different than anything we’ve ever seen which will definitely attract viewers.

cue, the x factor. very similar to american idol, but they’ve got mr. cowell. and he’s priceless! this one we’re gonna have to wait awhile on… it’s not hittin’ TV until september. so far the only confirmed judges are simon himself and music mogul l.a. reid, but we’ve heard rumors of jessica simpson, katy perry, and even mariah carey joining the judges panel too.

so, which one has more promise? it’s tough to tell. we’ll just have to wait and see!

while the details are still under wraps, its been reported that the montag & crew will be “revamping a restaurant from the ground up.” right, since they have SO much business experience!

where’s it airing? on vh1, of course! yikes. just another example of quality TV programming.

can i get a collective, “siiiiiigh”?

every girl dreams of being a princess growing up, and this little lady gets to be one! before prince william and kate middleton say “i do” on april 29th, lifetime aims to give us an inside scoop into their whimsical romance in a made-for-tv movie.

“inspired by true events,” william & kate premieres on the small screen monday, april 18th on lifetime. the flick tells the tale of the couple’s courtship – the ups, downs and their many run-ins with the dreaded paparazzi.

while it may not be the 100% real story, i’m such a sucker for the royal wedding that i’m sure i’ll check it out. what about YOU?

Christmas comes early!

if you’re like me, you’ve been jonesing for some repeats of your favorite ’90s nickelodeon shows. hello, clarissa explains it all! well, i’ve got some good news for my fellow twenty-somethings!

it’s been confirmed that beginning this fall, TeenNick will be bringing back all the shows we grew up with: all that, kenan & kel, the amanda show, clarissa explains it all and pete & pete! in a program block appropriately dubbed, the ’90s are all that, you can catch these re-runs during the midnight-2 a.m. block.

keith dawkins of TeenNick says of the decision, “at the time, we were completely devoted to that audience ages 9, 10, and 11. it was ground-breaking and for the young viewers, a powerful and pivotal time in their lives. those kids who are now 22, 23 and 24 want to bring that back.”

let the nostalgia begin.

…and the tears are pouring down my face!

if you’re a fan of american idol, no doubt you’ve also become a fan of season 10′s chris medina. the humble singer entered the reality show to draw attention to two things: his talent and his injury-stricken fiance, juliana.

juliana suffered from a traumatic car accident, which has unfortunately left her severely brain damaged. chris has stayed by her side relentlessly. after it was revealed chris did not make american idol‘s top 24, it left most of us saying, “ah come on, give him another chance!”

well, ryan seacrest did just that. he had him on his radio program this past week where it was revealed that guthy-renker donated $35,000 to his fiance’s foundation! seeing him tear up like that… yeah, i started crying too.

meanwhile, topher grace who was in the next room waiting to discuss his new movie take me home tonight, interrupts the interview to donate ANOTHER $35,000! see? people really do have good hearts. topher and the movie’s producer then go on to say that they’ll also donate 1% of whatever take me home tonight pulls in at the box office this weekend!

i just love stories like this.

i’m dreading the office without the great michael scott, yes. but news that will ferrell will be joining his anchorman co-star steve carell during his farewell episodes sweetens his office departure just a bit.

…but only a bit.

ferrell has committed to a four-episode arc on the office in which he’ll play a branch manager who has many michael scott-like qualities – which means he’ll most likely be awkward, hilarious and inappropriate. producers are saying ferrell will air one episode after carell leaves, to help with the transition. seems they think mr. ferrell will help stop the michael scott withdrawals!

exec producer paul liberstein / toby jokes, “we found steve carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star. we are proud to continue the office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at will, they’ll see what we see, tremendous raw sexuality.”

and there you have it. can’t wait!

this has GOT to be a joke.

another horrific example of taking reality TV to the next level. the E! channel is prepping for the premiere of their next disaster of a show, bridalplasty.

“brides-to-be compete in challenges to earn plastic-surgery procedures in a quest to win their ultimate dream wedding.”

yup, you read that right. E! will be moving 12 brides into a mansion to compete for nips, tucks, stretches and pulls to help “look their best” before their big day. because, you know, that’s what it’s all about, right? each bride will meet with a plastic surgeon before the competition begins to write up their procedure “wish list.”

when she wins a round, she gets to go under the knife for anything from botox to breast implants to a tummy tuck or whatever else the lady desires. bridalplasty premieres on sunday, november 28th at 9:00pm. will YOU be tuning in?

vh1 has just announced the title for mario lopez‘s new reality TV show. the big reveal? mario lopez: saved by the baby (making a simply GENIUS pun on his days on 90′s fave saved by the bell)

i suppose it’s a smart marketing move – because where most would just tune out his reality TV debut, now we’re all talking about it! mario and girlfriend courtney mazza have just welcomed baby girl gia francesca, and want to show her off the world.

vh1′s press release touts the show will take us from the “hottest parties to the dirtiest diapers.” wait, wha?

whatever you say, guys! plus, i’m sure mario will use this opportunity to go shirtless whenever possible. i clearly recall my days working at extra with him, when he would walk around the newsroom in a barely-there tank and jeans. don’t wanna cover those muscles!!
