aging “gracefully”

now i don’t know about you, but i have trouble remembering to take my multivitamin once a day. imagine having to take 60. suzanne somers, age 62, was recently on the oprah winfrey show to share her opinions on getting older. clearly aging “gracefully” is not on her agenda!

her daily routine?
- she rubs hormone lotion and estrogen on the inside of her upper arm daily
- injects estriol vaginally

- take 60 dietary pills daily, 40 in the morning and 20 at night

her ultimate goal is to defeat what she calls the seven drawfs of menopause: itchy, bitchy, sleepy, sweaty, bloated, forgetful, and all dried-up. i can’t imagine what a pain it must be to keep up with that kind of regimen. and it has to be insanely expensive! in any case, click on this link to see suzanne herself explain what she does and why. this is a must-see.

octuplet mom

the world’s longest-living octuplets were born this past week, and the media has been all over it. but not in a congratulatory way. already a mother to 6 children, 33-year-old Nadya Suleman gave birth to the octuplets on January 26th in California. Suleman, a single mother, conceived the babies through in-vitro fertilization. she has said that “all she ever wanted was children.” NBC has the first interview with the mother of 14 – check out the first half of it below. it’s pretty darn interesting to hear her story, but i will say that i was a bit distracted by the size of her surgery-enhanced lips!

Octuplet Mom Interview

romantic comedy overload

after watching a (hilarious) episode of ‘the office’ on hulu.com, i started to browse some movie trailers. and whooooa baby, there was a ton of romantic comedies! while they aren’t necessarily breaking new grounds in the world of cinema, they are funny, light-hearted, and just plain old feel-good movies. i’ve got a couple here for you to check out… to help determine whether or not they’re worth the $10 movie ticket.

just funny

i’ve been missing me some brian regan lately. he’s a stand-up comedian that i just looooove. i remember a while back my brother and i were on a road trip, and ended up listening to some stand-up. we listened to various people, dropping f-bombs and who knows what else. not that it wasn’t all very hysterical … it was. but i think it takes even more talent to be funny without all the bells and whistles. and that’s brian regan. just so funny.

grammytime

the grammys are on this sunday! here’s a partial list of the nominees this year. lil’ wayne had the most nominations, coming in wtih 8. with coldplay at 7 and jay-z at 6, you can be sure those gentlemen will be walking away with some wins! noticeably absent: beyonce, taylor swift, and ms. spears.

the grammys are on cbs at 8:00 ET/PT. obviously my opinion isn’t worth much in the music biz, but i’ve colored the nominees below that i am rooting for just for fun.

supercommercials

well, the superbowl has come and gone! and besides being disappointed at the outcome of the game, i did find some good commericals. one of my favorites was the doritos “crystal ball” commersh. i think it was funny because i was NOT expecting him to throw it. and, his strange, over-excited voice got me rolling too.

my other fave was definitely the conan o’brien bud light commercial. i’ve always been a fan of his. he has such a self-deprecating sense of humor, such comedic timing. anywho, conan got me again with this vid. he is pretty darn funny.
