move over, ‘glee!’

glee-cast

sometimes tv execs make some interesting decisions. cult-hit tv show ‘glee’ has taken audiences by storm… one song at a time. and while i don’t particularly enjoy the musically-dominated show, it’s no secret that most people want ‘glee’ to stay. but what does fox do? they put the show on hiatus… for 5 months!

making way for the ratings-giant ‘american idol,’ fox is wrapping up ‘glee’s’ fall run on december 9th. then – get this – doesn’t come back until april 13, 2010! a very risky decision, if you ask me. since the show is still so new, they could lose some fans by making them wait to see more of it. i suppose time will tell if this will effect ‘glee’s’ fan base.

pre-’sex and the city’!

‘sex and the city’… we see carrie as a young adult, working in new york city with her best friends and lots and lots of boyfriends. but what was she like as a teenager? well, we might now have our answer!

‘sex and the city’ author candace bushnell is set to publish a book entitled ‘the carrie diaries’ that will chronicle the fashionista’s life before the cameras started rolling. we’ll see carrie in high-school, dealing with all the perils of the teenage days – mother issues, first loves, friends and enemies galore! the book will also address how carrie became a writer.

‘the carrie diaries’ will hit shelves april 27, 2010 – conveniently close to the ‘sex and the city 2′ movie premiere in may! should be a good month for the die-hards.

yes please

ryan_reynolds_profilefinally! a reason to blog about ryan reynolds. i may or may not have a massive celeb crush on him. but besides all that, i’m happy to report that he and anna faris are reuniting in a new comedy! these two, who were hysterically matched in ‘just friends,’ will star together in a movie all about the good & bad of honesty in a relationship.

sometimes too much information can be a bad thing, the movie seeks to show us. entitled ‘tmi,’ ryan and anna will star as the leads in the universal pictures-developed film. after a few box office duds, universal is trying its hand with this sure-fire duo to prove the studio still has it in ‘em. with ryan on board, chances are it will be a good one. we want them to make a film that we enjoy as much as we enjoy going out with our friends or playing popular bingo games or going on a great date. we want it to be so good we’ll watch it time and time again and be able to get a great ryan fix each time.

i think i speak for all of us when i say, hurry up, universal! we want to see this movie and SOON.

dumb & dumber

this’ll just make your day. or make you cringe. either way, it’s another noteworthy idea from mr. jimmy kimmel himself. why not take the world’s most ignorant beauty queen and have her answer life’s most challenging queries? of course you remember miss south carolina and her trouble with “some people who don’t have maps.” well, jimmy found her, and sent her to find out where babies come from.

enter octomom, nadya suleman. the famous mother of octuplets makes a guest appearance to give us some insight into the art of baby-making (the in-vitro kind, of course). aaaand, the blind leads the blind! check out the wannabe celebs below.

next stop, space!

LIFE-US-SPACE-HOTEL

pretty soon “visit space” could be knocked off a lucky few of your bucket lists! a barcelona-based architect company has begun production on the ‘galactic suite space resort’, a multi-billion dollar hotel that will actually orbit the earth. the price tag for this interstellar experience? a cool $4.4 million will cover your three-night stay and eight-week training course. riiiight, let me just pull out my wallet!

the hotel’s ceo xavier claramunt forecasts that space travel will become “common” in the future. “it’s very normal to think that your children, possibly within 15 years, could spend a weekend in space.” guests will be able to visit the final frontier as early as 2012, but can put in reservations now. and 43 people have already done so!

after a day and a half of travel, guests will settle into their velcro suits and pod rooms. the velcro, of course, so they can “crawl around by sticking themselves to the walls like spiderman.” fascinating! they’ll also be able to peer out their windows to see over 15 sunrises a day. i bet it will be just plain incredible. maybe one day they’ll lower the price?! pretty please?

a personal post

you’ll have to excuse my personal post, but i feel the need to explain just where the heck i’ve been! i took a little break from my blogging to, well, do a lot of things. it’s been a busy summer’s end. let’s see…

i’ve been to st. louis, san diego (twice), san francisco, chicago, napa valley, palm springs and my first trip out of the country, japan. i moved into a townhouse, got a fabulous new job and found purpose in my career path. what else? i learned how to snowboard, surf and golf (200 yd drive, pretty darn good!). i went to sea world, disneyland, ran a 5k mud-run, bet on horses in del mar, cheered on the angels at a playoff game and went to the beach countless times (newport, huntington, san clemente, santa barbara).

so anyway, this is a post to my readers (are you out there?) to let you know i’m back. and will be blogging on a regular basis again. happy reading!
