jessica simpson unveils the price of beauty

alright jessica, what’s going on here? i suppose it has to do with the recent backlash about her weight.

the former pop star (i say “former” because let’s face it, she hasn’t had a hit in awhile!) has taken her game back to the world of reality tv.

SHOCKER! another out-of-the-limelight celeb is grasping at fame via reality fame. that trail’s been blazed too many to count, really. she’ll be debuting the price of beauty, in which she travels around the county unveiling what “true” beauty is all about. should be interesting, but reality tv? come on JSimps.

the show’s been added to vh1′s spring lineup, premiering march 15th at 10pm. she even released a single for the show, called who we are.  jessie-poo shares,

“i was inspired to write whenever i got back from traveling the world. we all struggle with the same issues. we all battle self-esteem. it’s just about being good enough for yourself.”

check out a clip below from the first episode, in which jessica travels to a “fattening hut!” so the question is…. will you be tuning in?

spokesperson for the skinny?

no shock here… thinner-than-thin celeb victoria beckham is adding her two cents about the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)’s new “health is beauty” campaign. the campaign encourages stylists, designers and others in the fashion industry to work with healthier-sized models.

while guest hosting on ‘the view,’ victoria says of the issue “most of these girls are naturally thin and i don’t think we should be discriminating against someone because they are too thin or too curvy or too large or whatever it is.” point well-taken, but how in the world can designers tell which ones are “naturally thin” and which are starving themselves every day?

take this girl for example… model coco rocha was told to lose weight at a size 6! a former vogue cover model, rocha lost out on catwalk work because of her refusal to drop sizes. why risk her health? and hear this: model luisel ramos stuck to a menu of green leaves and diet coke for 3 months before runway season… and suffered a fatal heart attack as a result. nobody learned. just six months later, her own sister passed away of malnutrition! so sad. victoria, watch what you say next time. this is too serious to make assumptions.

jer’s back!

jerrymichael jordan, brett favre, jay leno… these are just a few peeps who left their success for a taste of the retired life, but weren’t satisfied sitting on the sidelines. well, we can officially add another celeb to the list. king of comedy mr. jerry seinfeld!

jer is back and teaming up with nbc for a reality show entitled ‘the marriage ref,’ in which a panel of celebrities, comedians & athletes will judge marital disputes and recommend conflict resolutions. could be funny, could be a disaster. while jerry will stay behind the camera as producer for most of it, he will probably makes a few cameos.

jerry says that his adventures in bachelorhood inspired ‘seinfeld,’ and now after 10 years of wedded bliss feels he is ready to conquer the unpredictable institution of marriage. nbc touts the new show as “revealing. controversial. downright funny. ‘the marriage ref’ vows to look at relationships unlike anything you’ve ever seen on tv.”

real-life couples can audition to appear on the show, but be prepared! this is not therapy, this is comedy. the casting call stipulates “whether you argue about parenting, pets, fashion, money, in-laws, weight, housework, chores, communication, neatness, jealousy, past history, friends, sex… whatever you argue about, we want to hear from you. tell us why you absolutely need a marriage ref to weigh in and decide who is RIGHT and who is WRONG.” ‘the marriage ref’ premieres on nbc this fall.

minimum-wagers

cbs_get_that_alot_sp_2009__oPtso this isn’t rocket science. what’s funny is funny, and i think CBS got it right with this one. it was just announced that episodes of the april fool’s day special ‘i get that a lot’ have been reordered by CBS.

similar to everyone’s favorite candid camera shows, the situation is this: a real celeb goes to work at a run-of-the-mill restaurant or otherwise obscure place. customers unaware of the prank are then left to stare & wonder. could that really be her/him?? most people will muster up the courage to tell the “employee” that they look like the famous person. to which, and here comes the tv title, the celebs reply yea, i get that a lot.

i absolutely died laughing while watching the pranks. and apparently so did a lot of people because the premeire episode on april 1st garnered nearly ten million viewers! CBS will be airing specials of the show with new celebs each quarter. should be a money-maker! in the meantime, check out heidi klum at a pizza place & jessica simpson as a computer specialist below.
