grover is “on a horse”

this. is. GENIUS!

way to go, sesame street marketing team! in an attempt to draw attention away from their recent katy perry cleavage controversy, sesame street has called on everyone’s favorite blue monster, grover.

in this short clip, grover emulates the viral “old spice guy” commercials. grover’s impression is spot on,  complete with the famous ending line, “i’m on a horse!”

but it wasn’t exactly the same – they sesame street-ized it! it’s actually pretty cute. check out grover above and the real old spice guy below.

who dat

did you enjoy your superbowl party yesterday? well apparently so did a lot of people. superbowl xliv has officially taken its place as the most-watched program in USA history! more than 106.5 million people tuned in to see the saints prevail over the colts yesterday.

in comparison, last year’s superbowl garnered 98.7 million. the superbowl has surpassed the last record-holder, 1983′s finale of “m*a*s*h”, which boasted 105.97 million viewers. but hey, how many fewer television sets were there back in ’83? i went to a party at a house with 22 tv’s, for pete’s sake! regardless, superbowl xliv is now the reigning ratings champ.

check out a few commercials that made the game even more interesting!

copycat storylines

when the commercials for seth rogen & anna faris’ new movie “observe and report” started popping up on tv, it was like pure deja vu. the whole unimportant-security-guard-that-has-a-chance-to-prove-himself thing has definitely been done before. in fact, it was done just a month prior. kevin james’ “paul blart: mall cop” finished out its run in theaters not too long ago to surprisngly ridiculous results – it took in more than $200 million at the box office. and before you know it, we’ve got a new bad-guy security guard in town. wow, poor planning by “observe and report”!
i’m sure that the powerhouse of seth rogen & anna faris will bring in lots of viewers – let’s be honest, they’re hysterical. but will people be tired of the same old storyline? i guess we’ll see! “observe and report” opens in theaters april 10th. for your comparison plesaure, the two similar movies’ trailers are below.
