taylor “trainwreck” momsen

oh me oh my. this 16-year-old is a bit confused. even more so than before!

okay, we get it – you’re EDGY!

with ever-present raccoon eyes and lingerie-themed attire, taylor seems to be reveling in the “i’m a big girl, treat me like one” attitude. her latest? publicly announcing that her best friend is her vibrator. classy!

of her music, she says:

“i’m not looking to be miley fuc**ing cyrus. i don’t care about the fame. i do it because i love music… i’m not dissing miley personally. however, i do think the disney bubblegum shi** that the world is living right now is pathetic. i thought we passed that repression… people will be surprised by [our] record. i mean, it’s a rock record. our record is a life record. it confronts everything head on. it’s death, love, drugs, sex, religion, politics.”

peep her latest display of celebrity – the music video for her band the pretty reckless’ miss nothing in which she recreates the last supper.  crawling suggestively on a tabletop toward older men. making’ you proud, mom?

television’s big night

it’s the celebration of television! the emmy awards, hosted by neil patrick harris, featured a plethora of your favorite shows & stars – all there to honor the industry’s best. the telecast garnered a viewership of 13.3 million, an impressive 11% increase from last year’s show.

we’re all used to ’30 rock’ being big winners, which of course this year they were as well (best comedy, best lead actor), but i was happy to see some other well-deserved victories. the lovely toni collette won the emmy for best actress in a comedy series (‘united states of tara’). and for his role as ben in ‘lost’, michael emerson won best supporting actor. i also thought it was very fitting for justin timberlake to win best guest host for his hilarious stints on ‘saturday night live.’ click here for a full list of this year’s honorees.

but let’s be honest – you just wanna know who looked good and who failed miserably! best dressed, shall we? i have to give it up to ‘eastwick’ star lindsay price. my oh my she looked stunning in a dress by j. mendel. and emmy award-winning actress toni collette found this drop-dead gorgeous monique l’huillier gown. just plain WOW. who would’ve thought that toni would show up in – of all things – a pink, frilly dress!

as for the worst? well, see for yourself. blake lively, star of ‘gossip girl,’ was on track with a beautiful versace gown… that is until she sliced it down to her navel. it’s just a bit much, yes? and the long, braided ponytail is a little too ‘xena warrior princess’ for my taste. then there’s poor sarah silverman. definitely not a flattering look on her! this is all sorts of wrong. especially the weird hip-bouffant action going on.

the trend of the night? white gowns. we’ve got january jones (‘mad men’) in atelier versace, olivia wilde (‘house’) in marchesa, leighton meester (‘gossip girl’) in bottega veneta & kim kardashian in ina soltani. january & olivia, i’m loving it. as for the other two ladies, i’m not as enthused. kim must’ve known she would get some ‘saturday night fever’ cracks in that outfit!

16 going on 40

504x_sept09coverTEENVOGUE

16-year-old ‘gossip girl’ actress taylor momsen is this month’s teen vogue cover girl. that’s all well & good until you actually read the article. this little lady comes off very – well, strange. here are some highlights that might have you scratching your head.

forced into the spotlight: “i kind of grew up in front of the camera:  i started modeling when i was two. i was never pushed into it, but i never really chose it either.

don’t try to tell her she needs an education! “i found high school kind of boring i’m an artist; i’m not going to use trigonometry.”

too much, too soon: ”i’m taking college classes online — i want to major in language arts… for most people, college is a place where you learn about yourself, and i feel like i’m doing that already. i’m already independent. i live a very adult life.”

what, no friends? ”i have such trust complexes. i’m close to like two people. i’ve always been like that. people misinterpret what i say all the time. they think i’m being offensive, when really, i’m only being opinionated.”

the little one claims to have had “lots of relationships,” but that they are all much older than her. why? she says she would “eat a boy [her age] alive.” well, that’s good to know. days after the teen vogue cover went public, the momsen celebrated her 16th birthday like most kids do - rocking out in a sheer pink nightie with her band, pretty reckless. sooo normal!
