her musical chops

she can sing! actress jennifer aniston appeared on ‘the ellen degeneres show’ today to promote her latest flick, ‘love happens.’ after some chitty chatting, ellen inquires about jen’s upcoming project called ‘the goree girls,’ which calls for aniston to sing. ellen coaxes the lovely lady to serenade the audience, and she obliges with a sultry rendition of ‘i’ve got a crush on you.’ pretty good if you ask me! check out the clip above.

‘the goree girls’ is based on the book by john lee hancock which centers around the true-life story of eight female inmates who form a country bank in texas back in the 1940′s. aniston is set to produce and star in the film, with michael sucsy (‘grey gardens’) directing. this should definitely be interesting, as we have rarely seen aniston in anything outside of romantic comedies.

director sucsy says of the flick:

“these women learned to harmonize and they learned to play instruments. they weren’t these amazing, accomplished singers who banded together. that’s what’s interesting about it. it’s not just like, ‘hey, you can play the guitar, i can play the piano, i can play the harmonica. let’s put a band together.’ it’s like, ‘we have to get out of jail, and if we have to put a band together to do that, then that’s what we’re going to do.’ “

jennifer will also have to learn to play the dobro (a guitar) for her starring role. sucsy plans on casting real musicians to play alongside aniston. ‘the goree girls’ is due out sometime late next year.

some dictator love

there are so many things wrong with what’s going on here. first, what the heck is aubrey o’day doing on the sean hannity show? the girls group cast-off has been milking her “fame” in such prestigious ways like posing for playboy and wearing next to nothing on the red carpet. classy! so why hannity had her as a guest, it’s beyond me!

regardless, the lovely lady had some insight to share about everyone’s favorite dictators, fidel castro and adolf hitler on the show yesterday. she defends communist dictator castro, calling him “brilliant!” she goes on to say “i’m not defending his behavior in many instances, but i do have to say that i will 100 percent agree he’s an incredibly brilliant man.”

there’s no greater way to get yourself in hot water than express admiration for the commie’s. well, i take that back. because aubrey in the next breath discusses how she also believes adolf hitler was a brilliant man. in the wake of the coverage surrounding her comments, aubrey just released a statement to tmz to explain herself further. and there you have it, folks! check out the hysterical clip above.

queen tyra

tyra-banks-660

does she even realize how vain she is? tyra banks, ladies & gentlemen! ever since the launch of her talk show, tyra finds some way to make every segment all about her. and the season premiere of tyty’s 5th season will be no different!

the lovely lady has decided to make the premiere, september 8th “national real hair day!” she actually created her own holiday. i think what tyra doesn’t realize is that most of us ‘normal’ people don’t have hairstylists… therefore ‘real hair day’ is everyday.

tyra says: “this season on ‘the tyra show’ we’re taking it to the next level and getting more real than ever before by encouraging women everywhere to own and rock what they’ve got and be proud! for the season 5 premiere, i will be doing just that – no fake hair, i’m rocking my REAL hair. this will all be going down on september8, 2009, which we’re declaring national real hair day! we welcome everyone to go natural with me!”

wanna see tyra’s real hair? and also see ladies wearing strange nude bodysuits? i’m assuming the answer to those questions is ‘no.’ if it happens to be ‘yes’ (weirdos), then you can tune in the the cw to celebrate our God-given hair!

she’s back!

bridget jones

oh yeah, it’s on. finally! renee zellweger is set to reprise her role as bridget jones in the popular movie series, variety reports. as the second installment left quite an open door for the third, it was only a matter of time until bridget was back at it again.

the untitled ‘bridget jones’ flick is still in its early stages. production most likely won’t begin until 2010 – which gives renee plenty of time to beef up on cupcakes & pasta! as you may recall, zellwegger plays an unlucky in love and hysterically clumsy british publishing exec. we last saw bridget finally land her man – the beautiful colin firth – and become confident in their future together.

the movies thus far have been based off of the weekly newspaper columns author helen fielding wrote back in 2005. fielding’s final bridget column centered around the lovely lady, now in her 40s, trying to have a baby before it’s too late. sounds like we’re in for a treat!
