miley gets a 3.4M pad?

miley cyrus is 17. seventeen years old. and is moving into a 3.4 million mansion in toluca lake. but not to fret, billy ray, she’s just a few 100 feet away!

why is this happening, i ask you? more deets on the mansion…

“the pop star’s new spanish-style hacienda home is 4,045 sq feet in size and has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms plus a tennis court and pool.

there is a formal dining room with french doors that open to the yard, a wood-paneled study, and a state-of-the-art kitchen with a center island, granite counter tops, several sky lights, and a menu planning area.”

sounds dreamy! and if that wasn’t enough space for one person, she’s also got a 2-bedroom guest house on the property. this way, all her disney buddies can get their own room when they have sleepovers!

divas_2009_lineup

the ‘vh1 divas’ concert is back! bet you never knew it left, huh? apparently the network put the show on hiatus for four years. but not to worry, vh1 is prepping for the big show’s comeback in september. with performers in the past like mariah carey & aretha franklin, i was interested to see who they tapped for this year’s concert. well, the ladies have just been announced.

leona lewis? check; she’s an absolute powerhouse. adele & kelly clarkson? definitely have proved their staying power. but miley cyrus? she’s 16 for pete’s sake. the concert is touted as having ”legendary” performers… i don’t really think miley can quite be legendary at the age of 16. yes, she’s got a large tween following, but let’s be honest – her vocals are nowhere NEAR the likes of past ‘divas’ performers.

regardless, the ladies will belt out their hits live on vh1 on september 17th, 9/8c. the network just released the following info with more details on the big she-bang: “for the first time ever, these leading ladies at the top of their musical game will perform together live at the howard gilman opera house in brooklyn, new york.  continuing in true ’divas’ tradition, the evening will feature a night of unforgettable performances from various performers, presenters and special guests. additional performers & presenters will be annonced in the coming weeks.”

grammy moments: best & worst

about 19 million people tuned in to see the grammy’s last night, a definite increase in viewership since years past. there was a huuuuuge celeb line-up, with performances by everyone from paul mccartney to al green, the remaining member of the four tops to radiohead. certainly an eclectic group!

big winners? alison krauss & robert plant won all five awards they were nominated for – the biggest being album of the year. lil’ wayne took home best rap song & album among others, and coldplay got the honors for song of the year, ‘vida la vida’.

best & worst moments:

best – al green singing ‘let’s get together’. such a classic!
worst – coldplay’s sargeant pepper outfits.
best – taylor swift writing & performing her song, ’15′.
worst – miley cyrus dueting with her, and reminding us all that she has just a fraction of talent.

best – MIA absolutely killing it during ‘swagger like us’. oh yeah, and she was 9 mos. preggers!
worst – kanye west’s hair. totally looked like ac slater from ‘saved by the bell’!
best – jack black after paul mccartney’s performance: “we just heard from a promising new bass player, paul mccartney. remember that name people, it’s gonna be big!”

worst – chris brown & rhianna are no shows, due to allegations that chris may have assaulted his gf rhianna. total downer!
